"Employment Market Information provides information regarding the structure of employment, occupational composition of the establishment, educational qualification of the employees and thereby provide information about the balance between supply and demand of Manpower."

District Functioning

The Employment Market Information unit is functioning in all districts. The foremost function of the EMI units are identification of establishment and collect and compile information on employment and thereby help to assess supply, demand and plan for manpower requirements.

Data Collection

Employment data in relation to public sector and non-agricultural private establishments employing 25+ persons are collected under the Employment Exchanges Compulsory Notification Act 1959. Based on quarterly reports, vacancies and needed qualifications are assessed.

Impact & Analysis

The major use is to assess the absorption of applicants, fulfill manpower demand, and assess requirements for professional, technical, and skilled workers. It plays a vital role in analyzing employment opportunities and the development of the economy in that area.
